The city of Vigo continues its tourism and urban development boom with the approval of a new two-star hotel with 81 double rooms on Avenida de Castrelos 20<\/strong>, confirming the city’s commitment to diversify hotel offerings beyond the center and revitalize its neighborhoods. This initiative, promoted by the developer Meifus Inbest S<\/strong>L, reflects the dynamism and adaptability of the Vigo real estate sector.<\/p>\n The building subject to this transformation, currently offices, was initially intended to become a residential block of eight flats. However, in May 2025 the developers chose to modify the municipal license and officially request the change of use to enable a hotel, a project that has just received the municipal approval after complying with the legal requirements, both locally and regionally. The execution budget exceeds 618,000 euros<\/strong> and affects a seven-storey building plus a roof and two basements for the garage, occupying a total area of almost 3,800 square meters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This procedure is covered by the General Plan of Municipal Planning, which allows the development of hotel uses on plots that meet certain conditions: more than 2,500 square meters and a minimum of 50 rooms<\/strong>, including services such as a restaurant or bar for guests and the general public.<\/p>\n El proyecto de Castrelos no es un caso aislado. In addition, the Pr\u00edncipe 7 Rooms Hotel Boutique has recently opened in the heart of the city, expanding alternatives for all types of visitors.<\/p>\n The developer Meifus Inbest<\/strong>, a subsidiary of Meifus Global Holding<\/strong> and based in Vigo, has shown a remarkable capacity for diversification, expanding its traditional field of industrial warehouses to residential and commercial developments throughout the city and nearby municipalities. Its activity and turnover have experienced a growth of 46% between 2023 and 2024<\/strong>, reflecting the good health and future projection of the Galician real estate and tourism sector.<\/p>\n This new hotel in Castrelos<\/strong> marks a clear trend: the expansion of tourist services to neighbourhoods that were previously considered untouched by the hotel bustle.
